That categorical refusal paired with apparent total confidence is the kind of posture Miami's Upper Eastside dining scene keeps reaching for without quite landing. Alex Meyer and Luciana Giangrandi, the Michelin-starred pair behind Boia De, brought chef Jeff Maxfield into a forty-one-seat room where yellow garage toolkits serve as side stations, boomboxes and surfer imagery surface inside Western wallpaper, and the whole enterprise is reported to read like a joke that is also absolutely serious. The warm light and polished wood are, by consistent account, doing real work here — the room is known to hold a night together better than its square footage might suggest, which is worth noting if the occasion calls for it.
