Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of the TastyPals Labs Ltd website, mobile apps, accounts, and restaurant-discovery services. By using them, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Content Policy.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 14 to create an account or submit personal information. Give accurate information, protect your credentials, and notify us of unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account.

2. The service

TastyPals offers restaurant information, editorial recommendations, Taste ID, ratings, reviews, saves, lists, social features, and optional location-based features. Restaurant hours, menus, prices, availability, rankings, and other details can change. Recommendations are opinions and automated outputs, not guarantees or professional dietary, health, legal, or financial advice.

3. Your content and visibility

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give TastyPals a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, moderate, and display that content as needed to operate and promote the service. The licence ends when content is deleted, except for reasonable backups, legal obligations, and public content retained in de-identified form as described in the Privacy Policy. New user content is private by default unless you choose a public setting. Public content may be visible and copied by anyone.

4. Content rules and moderation

Submit only content you have the right to share. Do not post unlawful, deceptive, threatening, hateful, harassing, infringing, private, or manipulated content, spam, undisclosed paid endorsements, malware, or fabricated reviews. We may review, restrict, reject, remove, or de-identify content and may preserve evidence where reasonably necessary for safety or law.

5. Acceptable use

Do not interfere with the service; bypass security or rate limits; access another account; scrape or extract the service in a harmful or unauthorized way; reverse engineer restricted components; impersonate others; or use the service to violate law or third-party rights.

6. Suspension and termination

You may delete your account from profile controls. We may restrict or terminate access for material or repeated violations, fraud, security risk, legal requirements, or discontinued service. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to appeal by contacting us. Provisions that by nature should survive—including licences for lawfully retained public content, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—survive.

7. Third parties and advertising

Links, maps, menus, app stores, restaurant sites, sign-in services, and other third-party services have their own terms. Contextual sponsored or advertising placements do not constitute a guarantee or endorsement. Advertising choices are described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual property

TastyPals branding, software, design, editorial material, and product content are owned by TastyPals Labs Ltd or its licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service personally and lawfully.

9. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss. Our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid for the service giving rise to the claim. These limits do not exclude rights or liabilities that law does not permit us to exclude.

10. Changes

We may improve, suspend, or discontinue features. For material Terms changes, we will post the updated Terms and provide reasonable prominent notice before they take effect when required. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance; if you disagree, stop using the service and delete your account.
