Barrhaven gets dismissed as Ottawa's culinary afterthought — chain restaurants, strip-mall sushi, nowhere to actually eat late — and Greenfields Public House seems to exist specifically to make that reputation awkward. What the family-owned operation at 900 Greenbank has built is a late-night room with a real kitchen behind it: full menu until 1am, a dance floor that reportedly gets real use, 150-plus whiskeys on the shelf, and 101 rotating craft taps. That's not pub ambition. That's a program. The fact that it's owned by people who actually live in Barrhaven matters in ways that are hard to quantify but easy to feel — this place has a neighbourhood gravitational pull that no franchise can manufacture.
