Sparks Street doesn't exactly scream cocktail destination — it's government buildings and lunch sandwiches and people walking fast with lanyards. Which is exactly why Stolen Goods, tucked into 714 square feet of exposed brick and oil-lamp glow at 106 Sparks, hits the way it does. Bartender Mike Campbell and chef Adam Ghor built something almost defiantly intimate here: 20 seats, navy drapes pulled across the windows like a confession booth, twisted fluorescent tubes cutting industrial angles against candlelight that has no business being this flattering. The room has a logic to it — it exists to make you slow down and pay attention. There's no ambient noise to fill silences, no crowd to dissolve into. You are here, specifically, and that's the point.
The drinks are the headline, and they earn the spotlight without apology. Campbell's program runs on in-house obsession: raccoon-reserve gin and bourbon batched on premise, fat-washes, house syrups, seasonal infusions threading through nearly every pour. The Petty Theft — limit one per customer, which tells you everything you need to know about how serious they are about it — is herbaceous and clean and the kind of drink that makes you rethink what a cocktail bar is supposed to do. The Midnight Ride Riserva is worth whatever they're charging. Food-wise, Ghor's small plates are punching well above their station: the Beef Tartare is precise and confident, the Dressed Whalesbone Oysters arrive with enough going on that you're not just eating an oyster, you're eating an argument, and the Cheesecake is the kind of dessert that makes you annoyed you almost skipped it.
Book ahead — 20 seats evaporate fast on weekends, and walk-ins are a gamble you'll likely lose. If you can choose your seat, go for the table farthest from the door; it's quieter and the oil lamp situation is better. Order the Petty Theft first, before your window closes. Then let the tartare anchor the table while you work through whatever the cocktail list suggests you haven't tried yet. This is not a quick-drink situation — block two hours minimum and commit.
